Since 2000, the Incorporated Village of Mineola has relied on Phillips Preiss Grygiel for planning services
The Incorporated Village of Mineola has retained Phillips Preiss Grygiel to update its comprehensive master plan, 15 years after first hiring the firm to provide planning expertise. Mineola is the county seat of Long Island’s Nassau County and has been designated by the Regional Plan Association as one of eleven regional downtowns in the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut metropolitan area. In 2000, the firm (then known as Abeles Phillips Preiss & Shapiro) was retained by the Village to provide planning consulting services, including working with the Mineola Community Planning Committee to prepare a new comprehensive plan. This document was honored with a Smart Growth Award for community revitalization from Vision Long Island. In recent years, PPG has also reviewed development proposals and assisted the Village as it promotes mixed-use development and other improvements in its transit-oriented downtown. The firm is now once again working with the Community Planning Committee to update the plan to ensure it continues to properly guide development and investment in Mineola.
